You've got a big RV to cool and chilly mornings that sneak up fast. This rooftop unit from GE Appliances has an AC for hot days and a built-in heat pump for cooler nights. Great for saving propane by using electric heat during cooler weather.

Highlights

  • Heats and Cools Like It Should: 15,000 BTUs of real cooling power - perfect for larger rigs, camping in hotter climates, or if you want more aggressive temperature control.
  • No Ducts, No Problem: Made for RVs without ducted air - ideal for replacing your existing setup or running a second cooling setup.
  • Everything's in the Box: Comes with an air distribution box, a thermostat, and a control board - no piecing it together later.
  • Built-In Heat Pump for Electric Heating: Adds electric heat to keep your RV comfortable without relying on your propane furnace.
  • Protects Against Wind, Rain, and Road Debris: Reinforced shroud helps prevent damage from highway conditions and everyday use.
  • Future-Proof Cooling: Runs on R32 refrigerant, so you're not stuck with an outdated system in a year or two.

Features to know about

Extra Power

If you've got more RV to cool, or you're chasing summer across the Southwest, a standard AC unit might not cut it. This 15,000 Btu rooftop system from GE Appliances gives you more cooling power for bigger rigs, hotter climates, or anyone who just wants to beat the heat. It gives you more muscle to handle hot days, high ceilings, and sun-baked campgrounds without breaking a sweat.

Heats Without Wasting Propane

Heating with propane brings two problems: it costs more than you think, and you're never sure if you have enough to get through the night. This rooftop unit with a built-in heat pump changes that. The heat pump uses electric power to take the edge off cold mornings, so your furnace doesn't have to do all the work. You get reliable warmth through the same ceiling assembly you use for cooling, and the more you heat with electric, the less propane you burn. It's one less system to manage, and one more reason you can camp longer without thinking about your fuel gauge.

Fewer Parts, Faster Setup, Direct Cooling

Ductless air conditioners move air straight into the RV without relying on ceiling ductwork, making them ideal for smaller rigs, retrofits, or any setup where simplicity matters. With a ductless system, what you see is what you get: a rooftop unit connected directly to a ceiling assembly that pushes steady airflow into your living space. They're also perfect for adding a second AC to areas that never cool down properly, like an upper bunk or bonus room. If your RV has no ductwork, a ductless setup gives you cooling power you can feel.

A Smarter, Future-Ready Choice

A lot's changed in RV cooling over the years, and one of the biggest shifts is what's inside the system - not just the tech, but the refrigerant itself. This model uses R-32, a newer refrigerant that cools efficiently while producing significantly less environmental impact. It's cleaner, more future-friendly, and already becoming the standard across the industry. If you're replacing an aging unit, you're not just upgrading your airflow you're upgrading what's behind it.

Had this unit installed professionally and immediately went in a camping trip. Unit is not working properly. I have been told it is probably a faulty temperature sensor. No one at GE will help me because they will only speak to a technician. Every technician I have called in my area will not work on GE telling me they are a nightmare took in and with.

  • Replacement AC for Coleman Mach 7000 on 2003 Fleetwood Discovery 38U
Hey Keith! I just got your questions so I'll address everything on this one. All of the replacement AC units have switched to the new R32 refrigerant so a complete replacement is necessary. This will include a wall thermostat so you don't have to worry about compatibility or if the existing one even works. The GE AC you were looking at will work as a replacement for the Coleman. The correct system will depend on whether you have a ducted or ductless setup, the color, and if you want the...

  • Replacement AC System w/ Heat Pump for a Dometic AC
Hey Cody. We do not have any Dometic replacement AC units or compatible systems that you could use. In order to replace your AC and add a heat pump you'll need to purchase a new system. I have a couple of options for you but none of them are going to be plug and play. These are brand new systems from GE that include a heat pump along with a 15,000 btu AC unit. These units have the new R32 refrigerant which meets 2025 EPA regulations so they're not going to be backwards compatible with...

  • Availability of Heat Strip or Heat Pump for Furrion Chill Cube RV AC
Hey Jon; I was actually just talking to Furrion about heat options for the Chill Cube yesterday (1/21/2025). At this time, the only way to have heat with this unit is through a furnace on a ducted setup. The Furrion Chill Cube RV AC w/ Air Distribution Box, Thermostat # FR49TD (black) and # FR69TD (white) come with a wall mounted thermostat capable of running a furnace. However, adding a furnace is pricey and since you asked about a heat strip I'm guessing you don't have one already. You...

  • Parts Needed to Upgrade From 13,500 BTU GE Air Conditioner to 15k GE Air Conditioner
Hi Kevin; since your camper is a 2023 you probably have an old R410A GE AC on there right now. If you can find an old R410A 15k GE in stock somewhere you can swap it out with the existing AC. If none are available, you will have to replace the entire system. All of the GE units we have now use the new R32 refrigerant so they're compliant with new EPA regulations. These are not backwards compatible so you can't simply swap out the AC unit on top. You will need one of the following: -GE...

  • Replacement AC for 41' KZ Trailer
Hi Larry; there have been too many compatibility issues with plug and play replacements so we no longer recommend it. You don't want to go through the installation process only to find nothing works. Instead, we recommend complete replacement. That might sound like a hassle but since all of the AC units have switched to the new R32 refrigerant, and they aren't backwards compatible, now is a great time to swap everything out. This also means old R410A parts are no longer being manufactured...
